Solemn Evening Prayer & Distribution of Oils

After the Oils have been blessed and prepared by the Bishop at the Chrism Mass, they are distributed to the parishes and institutions of the diocese. The faithful from each parish and institution are chosen and sent to receive the oils from the Bishop at the Distribution of Oils Ceremony.

On Tuesday, April 16th, deacons, religious, and the faithful of New Hampshire attended St. Joseph Cathedral for a Solemn Evening Prayer and the Distribution of Holy Oils.

In addition, this year's Solemn Evening Prayer provided an opportunity for the faithful of New Hampshire to pray in solidarity with the people of Paris and throughout the world who are saddened by the loss of Notre Dame Cathedral, an historical and significant Cathedral in the life of our Church.
