Giving

“When he looked up he saw some wealthy people putting their offerings into the treasury and he noticed a poor widow putting in two small coins. He said, “I tell you truly, this poor widow put in more than all the rest; for those others have all made offerings from their surplus wealth, but she, from her poverty, has offered her whole livelihood.” Luke 21:1-4

When Jesus spoke about the widow who gave her two small coins, the teaching became known as the Widow’s Mite. As disciples, we must acknowledge that God is the source of all things and all our gifts that we have received belong to him. The Widow’s Mite offers us a chance, a challenge, to be free of the pretense of comfort offered by money or other worldly possessions. The Diocese of Manchester welcomes you to explore the below opportunities for giving and the different ways in which you can share your generosity with the Catholic Church of New Hampshire.
