Editor, Parable Magazine

The Diocese of Manchester has a full time opening for an Editor for our award-winning magazine, Parable. This position manages all phases of editorial development and production of Parable; establishes and implements editorial procedures to ensure publications are completed in a timely manner. In addition, the Editor manages business functions, marketing, engagement, and development of Parable. Essential job functions include organizing, supervising, and participating in the management and development of all copy, photography, and artwork submitted for publication; working with consulting editors, writers and designer(s) to develop the editorial calendar; set and enforce deadlines, oversee and supervise all work of columnists, writers, freelancers, photographers, and vendors. A bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English or related field is required; five years of publishing and/or editorial experience is required, a working knowledge of the Catholic Church, theology and catechesis, spirituality, evangelization and biblical appreciation; practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church is required. Historical Archivist
Diocese of Manchester, Manchester, NH

The Diocese of Manchester has a part time opening (approximately 10 hours per week) for a Historical archivist. The archivist is responsible for assembling, cataloging, preserving, and managing valuable collections of historical information regarding the Catholic Church in New Hampshire and its ministries. The historical archivist primarily serves the administrative needs of the Diocesan Administration and assists parishes and Catholic schools with research, preservation, and records management issues but also makes the archives available to the public for scholarly research. Essential responsibilities of the position include assisting parishes facing closings and mergers with cataloging, preserving, and retaining ecclesiastical records and sacred patrimony in accordance with canon law. Collecting, preserving, and making available for scholarly research by appointment historical materials in accordance with canon law and civil privacy laws. A Bachelor Degree is required. Professional training and/or certification as a historical archivist or related field is preferred. Experience working or experience in archives or library science preferred.  Work or volunteer experience in a Roman Catholic parish, Catholic school, or institution also preferred. Executive Administrative Assistant - Catholic Schools Office
Diocese of Manchester, Manchester, NH

The Diocese of Manchester is looking for a full time Executive Administrative Assistant for our busy Catholic Schools office. This position supports the Superintendent of Catholic Schools by providing administrative support through a variety of duties including database management, budget preparation, and written correspondence, responding to email/phone inquiries, reading and responding to written memos and inquires, maintaining department schedules and monitoring project deadlines, maintaining board meeting notes and records, and assist in drafting polices, forms and guidelines. Essential duties and responsibilities of the position include assisting the Superintendent with marketing and public relations by coordinating best practices, networking events with NH Catholic school secretaries, providing web updates to the communication specialist, reviewing and submitting student interest stories for the Parable Magazine, preparing enrollment analysis reports for the Bishop, Diocesan School Board, and the Finance department, plan and facilitate annual, semi-annual, quarterly, monthly and special meetings as required and managing the international student program on behalf of the Diocese. A Bachelor’s Degree with a preference in Education or some training/experience in education/teaching is preferred. Knowledge of teacher credentialing requirements is desirable. Proficient in Microsoft office software, database management and use of general office equipment. Communication Specialist
Diocese of Manchester, Manchester, NH

The Diocese of Manchester has a full time opening for a Communication Specialist. This position supports the efforts of the Communication Department, which is responsible for disseminating the message of the Bishop of Manchester through a variety of communication and public relations activities including: coordinating the production and design of the diocesan e-mail newsletters, designing graphics and/or selecting photography for use on the website, maintaining online calendar, collaborating with the web master, developing promotional campaigns, i.e. flyers, ads, programs and weekly bulletin inserts. We are looking for someone with three to five years’ experience working in non-profit marketing, someone with a BA in graphic design, web design and/or marketing, or equivalent education/experience. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and a working knowledge of Google Analytics, HTML and CSS preferred. Assistant Director of Multicultural Ministry

The Diocese of Manchester has a full time opening for an Assistant Director of Multicultural Ministry. The primary role of this position is to assist the cabinet secretary in delivering this mission to all cultures and ethnic communities in New Hampshire. This office works to promote an increased awareness of the cultural/ethnic strengths and diversity of the diocese, assist parishes in developing ministries, services and programs to meet multicultural needs, and helps build intercultural competence for all clergy, parish staff and diocesan administration personnel. Some of the essential duties of the position include working with the cabinet secretary for multicultural ministry to coordinate multicultural ministries in the Diocese, assisting the cabinet secretary to provide multicultural resources, education and leadership programs for clergy and laity. Collaborating with the USCCB’s Office of Hispanic Affairs and other multicultural initiatives as directed by the cabinet secretary for multicultural ministry and working with the Diocesan communications department to develop Spanish-language communications as directed by the cabinet secretary for multicultural ministry. Education, experience and skills required include: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least 2 years of experience in a comparable position. Demonstrated ability to lead multicultural initiatives within the Catholic Church. Fluent in Spanish. Ability to speak other languages is a plus. Due to the nature of this position, it is required that the incumbent be a practicing Roman Catholic who is registered and active in a parochial or religious community. Director of Parish & School Financial Services
Diocese of Manchester, Manchester, NH

The Diocese of Manchester (DOM), NH is actively seeking a Director of Parish & School Financial Services. The DOM consists of approximately 90 parishes, 25 elementary schools, including 3 high schools, and serves approximately 255,000 Catholics throughout the State of New Hampshire.

This is a Director level position with the primary responsibility to provide direction and assistance to parishes, schools, and parish/school related organizations with financial matters, including: budgeting, reporting, maintaining strong internal financial controls and compliance with State and Federal Laws and with the Diocesan Finance Manual, deposits and loans, and other matters related to parishes and schools. Qualifications include: Masters in Accounting or Certified Public Accountant Preferred; 10+ years of equivalent business experience; strong computer skills and proficient knowledge in computerized accounting systems; strong interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all individuals in the Diocese.
