Diocese of Manchester Welcomes Adult Faith Formation Director
MANCHESTER, NH – Martha Drennan, D.Min., has been named Director of Adult Faith Formation for the Diocese of Manchester, the Roman Catholic Church in New Hampshire. She works with parishes to support, develop, and provide resources for young adult and adult faith formation, along with lay ministry formation and the implementation of the catechumenate process (RCIA/OCIA).
Drennan also oversees the preparation for and celebration of the bi-annual diocesan celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation and the diocesan Rite of Election, in collaboration with the Office of Worship. She provides resources for the directors of College Campus Ministry, develops and implements an annual young adult retreat, and keeps campus ministers informed of developments within the diocese.
She has more than 20 years of experience in parish ministry and has held several management roles in faith formation at parishes in Virginia, Tennessee, and Maryland.
“With a deep commitment to Catholic faith formation and extensive experience in parish ministry management, Martha’s leadership will prove fruitful to the parishes and faithful she serves,” said Gloria Zapiain, Cabinet Secretary for Catholic Formation. “Her personal interest in family catechesis – and helping parents assume their roles as the primary educators of their children in their domestic church – will also benefit her work with families throughout the Diocese of Manchester.”
Drennan holds a D.Min. Theology, with a concentration in Liturgical Catechesis from the Catholic University of America; an M.A. in Theology and Christian Ministry, with a Catechetics Specialization from Franciscan University; and a B.S. in General Engineering, with a concentration in German, from the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY.
