Catholic Education Celebrated during
2023 Recognizing Excellence Awards Gala

MANCHESTER, NH, July 6, 2023 – The Most Reverend Peter A. Libasci, D.D., Bishop of Manchester, and the New Hampshire Catholic Schools office recently hosted nearly 300 guests for the 2023 Recognizing Excellence Gala at the Doubletree Hilton in Manchester. New Hampshire Education Commissioner Frank Edelblut delivered remarks and Rev. Msgr. C. Peter Dumont served as emcee.

The 2023 Recognizing Excellence Award honorees included the Cleric of the Year, Rev. Richard St. Louis of Holy Family Academy, Manchester; the Community Partner of the Year, Marie Farren of St. Joseph Regional Catholic School, Salem; and the Catholic School Teacher of the Year, Peggy Sica of Bishop Brady High School, Concord.

Finalist Runners Up for Teacher of the Year were Jean Colby of Mount Royal Academy North, Lancaster, and Patricia Palanski of Cardinal Lacroix Academy, Manchester.

“It is an honor to celebrate the educators, clergy members and support staff whose selfless dedication and talents make Catholic education so impactful on the students they serve,” said David Thibault, Superintendent of Catholic Schools. “We are grateful for their tireless commitment to academic excellence and to our faith.”
