Formation Day 2017

On September 29th, roughly five hundred teachers, staff, and school pastors gathered together for the annual Formation Day. The all-day event was held at the Grappone Center in Concord and hosted by the Catholic Schools Office. Superintendent Dave Thibault welcomed the group and set forth the vision for Catholic Education in New Hampshire; one that is grounded in our mission, and guided by a strong Catholic Identity. He called on teachers to be beacons of light during a period of changing societal norms; where students have more questions than ever about their role in the world and who they are called to be. The featured Keynote speaker was Dr. Joseph Pepe, CEO of Catholic Medical Center. Dr. Pepe shared his expertise around Catholic mission and how to prioritize what is important in an organization’s identity and how to affect positive change. Additional speakers for the day included:

  • Alison Mueller, Director of Enrollment Management, Catholic Schools Office
  • Del Gilbert , Accelerating Excellence
  • Fr. Bill Brown, Advancement Director of Mission and Apostolate, Oblates of the Virgin Mary
  • Lisa Zolkos, Director of Campus Ministry, Trinity High School
  • Kara Russell, Music Educator, St. Mary Academy, 2017 Catholic Schools Teacher of the Year
