NH Catholic Schools Consecration to Mary
For the first time in the history of Catholic schools in New Hampshire we gathered as one Catholic school community on May 16, 2017 at the Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester, NH. Over 6,000 Kindergarten through 12th grade students, faculty, and staff from 27 Catholic schools gathered together with Bishop Peter Libasci to celebrate Catholic education and to consecrate our entire system of Catholic schools to the Blessed Mother. This was an exciting opportunity for all of our students to be united in prayer for the future of all their Catholic schools.
We are about to embark on a strategic action plan to grow Catholic education in New Hampshire and a consecration to Mary is the best way to start moving forward. What is a consecration? Initially, this idea may seem strange to some. What does that even mean? “We consecrate ourselves in order to be more devoted to the Lord and His Blessed Mother. It helps us grow in holiness and increase our faith, hope, and love. It is a prayerful and focused method of drawing closer to Jesus than ever before.”1
As we renew our commitment to provide Catholic education to more and more students in New Hampshire, consecrating ourselves to Mary will draw us closer to Jesus. We will place all our hard work to build a bigger and brighter future for our Catholic schools into the hands of Our Lady, who in turn will take it to her son, Jesus.
We are fortunate to have had this event at Delta Dental Stadium at no cost, provided each school sells some tickets to a game on June 24th. Ticket sales will also provide some money to alleviate the cost of the buses to the event.
