Solemnity of St. Joseph
Monday, March 19, 2018, was the Solemnity of St. Joseph, the Feast of the Patron Saint of our diocese. To honor this day, Most Reverend Peter A. Libasci, Bishop of Manchester, celebrated Mass with the students, staff, and families of Mount Royal Academy in Sunapee, New Hampshire, as well as with an evening Mass at the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Manchester, New Hampshire.
Like many saints before, Bishop Peter encouraged the Mount Royal Academy school community to "go to St. Joseph" for all needs. Rev. Michael Kerper of St. Patrick Parish in Nashua, Very Rev. Shawn Therrien of St. Mary Parish in Claremont, and Rev. John Sullivan from the La Sallette Shrine in Enfield co-celebrated for this special occasion. Students feasted together on pasta during lunch, and older students helped younger ones eat in a home-style manner.

Later that day, Bishop Libasci joined Very Rev. Jason Jalbert in celebrating a special Mass at the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Manchester. The Diocesan Festival Choir, Diocesan Children's Choir and Cathedral Parish Choir led and supported the music for the Mass. Afterward, all were encouraged to gather in the Bishop Bradley Hall to join together for a meal at the St. Joseph Table, or tavole di San Giuseppe, set to honor St. Joseph.
