The Regional Encuentro, leading up to the Fifth National Encuentro of Hispanic/Latino Ministry (V Encuentro), convened at a Mass celebrated by the Most Reverend Edgar Da Cuhna, Bishop of Fall River, on Saturday, March 10. With the participation of more 650 delegates from throughout New England, including 57 delegates from the Diocese of Manchester, the Regional Encuentro was held at National Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette in Attleboro, Mass.
The delegates, including numerous priests and deacons of the region, gathered to experience the blessing of being part of the universality of the Catholic Church, and heard from speakers including Cardinal Sean O’Malley, Archbishop of Boston. They also engaged in dialogue and worked on the Regional Document that will be presented to the bishops of the USCCB in the V National Encuentro in September.
