Rev. Mr. Amazeen's First Mass as Deacon
Following his ordination to the transitional diaconate on Saturday, May 25, 2019, Reverend Mr. Ryan Amazeen participated in his first Mass as a deacon at St. Pius X Parish in Manchester, NH on Sunday, May 26, 2019.
The diaconate is the first of three ranks of ordained ministry in the Catholic Church, which also include the priesthood and the episcopacy, or the ministry of a bishop. Men studying for the priesthood are ordained as transitional deacons prior to beginning their final year of study before ordination to the priesthood. Deacons are able to preach at Mass, baptize, and celebrate weddings.
Ryan Amazeen is the son of Mr. Stephen and Mrs. Elaine Amazeen. A parishioner of St. Pius X Parish, he grew up in Auburn, NH and attended Manchester Memorial High School. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Providence College, and is entering his fourth year of Theology at St. John’s Seminary in Brighton, MA. He was vested at ordination by Reverend Monsignor Anthony R. Frontiero, and has a summer assignment at St. Joseph Cathedral Parish, in Manchester, NH.
