Opening of Cardinal Lacroix Academy
On Wednesday, September 5, the students and staff of Cardinal Lacroix Academy celebrated the opening of their school with a Mass led by Most Reverend Peter A. Libasci and Very Reverend Richard Dion. Cardinal Lacroix Academy is the parochial school of St. Anthony of Padua Church, which is where the opening Mass was celebrated. Afterward, Bishop Libasci and Father Dion visited the classrooms of the new school building, interacting with the students of this inaugural school year and providing their blessing.
Cardinal Lacroix Academy, a Pre-K—Gr. 6 school in Manchester, is the result of the unification of St. Casimir and St. Anthony Schools. This new school is named after Cardinal Gérald Lacroix, I.S.P.X., Archbishop of Québec and Primate of Canada. Cardinal Lacroix grew up in Manchester, and is an alumnus of St. Anthony School and Trinity High School.
