Advent Day at the Cathedral 2018
On Friday, December 14, the employees of the Diocesan Administration Building and of Catholic Charities New Hampshire participated in our annual Advent Day at the Cathedral. The day began with a prayer service and the Litany of Light. Afterward, guest speaker Cathy Chesley, J.D., Ed. D. of Catholic Charities led a panel discussion on the topic of Immigration and the Catholic Church. After the program was concluded, all employees participated in Mass at the Cathedral Chapel, which was celebrated by Bishop Peter A. Libasci.
Following Mass, all Chancery and Catholic Charities New Hampshire employees gathered in Bishop Bradley Hall to recognize our employee service awards. Employees celebrating milestone work anniversaries, ranging from five to thirty years, were honored for their contributions to our Diocese.
The day concluded with a luncheon and raffle of various prizes, with all proceeds from ticket sales being donated to the Safari Youth Club. This organization, based in Manchester, NH, educates and empowers youth refugees and immigrants through sports and arts, and provides training and mentoring to help youth reach all their goals in life. Safari Youth Club currently serves approximately 80 children and helps families adjust to their new lives in the United States.
