Field Advocate Ministry
Field Advocates are specially trained and appointed lay persons, deacons, and priests throughout the Diocese who assist parties in presenting an ‘annulment’ case to the Tribunal. The Field Advocate helps in the preparation of the formal Petition and ensures that the required forms and other data are complete and conducts a personal interview with the Petitioner or Respondent. She/he will answer any pertinent questions the party may have and will remain in contact with the party and the Tribunal throughout the progress of the case.
The Field Advocate Ministry has been in place in the Diocese of Manchester for approximately thirteen years, and those priests, deacons, and lay men and women who have been part of the ministry during that time have assisted nearly a thousand of our parishioners and others through the annulment process with dedication, compassion, and professionalism.
