(MANCHESTER, NH) – The Most Reverend Peter A. Libasci, Bishop of Manchester, announced today the appointment of Mr. Briand T. Wade, Esq. to serve as the Diocese of Manchester’s new Associate General Counsel. He began work at the diocese on July 1.

“As Associate General Counsel, Attorney Wade brings a wealth of experience in areas such as detailed commercial and residential real estate transactions, successful negotiation and resolution of complex legal issues, and intricate legal drafting and compliance, all of which will serve the Church in New Hampshire well. He is the right person for this position and it is a blessing to have him bring his in-depth knowledge and experience to his new ministry,” said Bishop Libasci.

Prior to his employment at the diocese, Wade practiced law in the Seacoast area of New Hampshire for more than thirty years, first as a partner at Loughlin & Wade and later as the founding member of the Wade Law Firm. He has been actively involved in the New Hampshire Bar Association, including serving as the Chairman of the Real Property Probate and Trust Section and Rockingham County Governor on the Board of Governors. He is a Continuing Legal Education Instructor for the Bar Association and a former Guest Business Law Lecturer at Southern New Hampshire University. He is a member of the Diocese of Manchester’s School Board and a former Chairman of the Christian Life Center Advisory Board for the Seacoast Deanery.

Wade graduated from the University of New Hampshire with honors, and earned his Juris Doctor degree from Franklin Pierce Law Center in Concord (now known as the University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law).

Wade is also a successful youth and high school girls’ lacrosse coach, with numerous state championships. After telling bedtime stories for many years to his daughters, Wade founded the web-based publishing company, Stories are Prayers in Color.

Wade is a parishioner of Saint Theresa Parish in Rye Beach, where he is a longstanding 8th Grade Faith Formation teacher. He lives in Rye with his three daughters.
