Saint Catherine of Siena School Announces Hiring of Catherine Meehan as New Principal

June 26, 2018

(MANCHESTER, NH) David A. Thibault, Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Diocese of Manchester, announced today the hiring of Ms. Catherine Meehan as the new Principal of Saint Catherine of Siena School in Manchester. She will replace Jocelyn Bergeron, who had served as principal since 2014. Ms. Meehan will begin her new position on July 1.

“In addition to her considerable administrative experience, Ms. Meehan has had several years of experience as an elementary classroom teacher in a Catholic school,” noted Mr. Thibault. “I am pleased to welcome her to the Saint Catherine of Siena School community, where I know she will continue to foster the spiritual development, academic excellence, and commitment to serve others that St. Catherine’s students are known for.”

“Students look up to their school leaders,” Ms. Meehan said. “They want adults to believe in them and expect that they can achieve their personal best. As principal at St. Catherine’s, I will be the kind of leader who is present and accessible, and will collaborate with faculty and families to provide a stellar academic and social experience for students.”

Before coming to St. Catherine of Siena School, Ms. Meehan served as Vice Principal at Mount Royal Academy in Sunapee. In addition to teaching in the classroom, her duties included supervising and evaluating both elementary and high school teachers, developing and implementing school goals and curriculum, assisting in the development of a strategic plan that advances the mission of the school, and overseeing all matters concerning student discipline. Earlier in her career at Mount Royal, Ms. Meehan also coordinated the after-school program, chaired the accreditation steering committee, and served on the school’s fundraising committee. She also serves on the Board of Trustees of Northeast Catholic College in Warner.
