Bishop Libasci Declares Mount Royal Academy North a Private Catholic School

BISHOP LIBASCI DECLARES MOUNT ROYAL ACADEMY NORTH
A PRIVATE CATHOLIC SCHOOL
(MANCHESTER, NH) – The Most Reverend Peter A. Libasci, Bishop of Manchester, announced today that he has formally recognized and designated Mount Royal Academy North in Lancaster as a private Catholic school, effective immediately.
Bishop Libasci said, “It has long been my goal to make Catholic education available, affordable, and accessible to all in our diocese. Therefore I am pleased to welcome Mount Royal Academy North as the only Catholic school in the North Country. I offer my prayerful best wishes for their success.”
Head of School Jill Colby said, “At Mount Royal Academy North our Catholic identity is the most defining characteristic of our school community, so it is a tremendous honor for us to be officially recognized as an authentically Catholic school by Bishop Libasci.”
Recognition as a Catholic school signifies that Mount Royal Academy North conforms to the authority of the bishop in matters of faith and morals, especially as related to Catholic religious education and liturgical practices. The school, as do all Catholic schools in the diocese, also adheres to diocesan standards regarding Catholic identity and academic excellence as well as the protection of children and young people.
Colby said, “Our mission is to teach the whole person, one student at a time. The personal nature of instruction is exemplified in the positive relationships shared between teachers, students, volunteers and parents. With our rolling admissions policy, I encourage families to visit the school and fill out an application at any time.”
