Bishop Libasci Names Alex and Lisa Walker
Co-Chairs of BCAF Campaign
(MANCHESTER) - The Most Reverend Peter A. Libasci, Bishop of Manchester, has named Alex and Lisa Walker Co-Chairs of the Bishop’s Charitable Assistance Fund 2019 campaign. Now in its 34th year, the BCAF has raised and distributed more than $6.5 million to assist organizations that improve the quality of life and provide the basic essentials for individuals and families in New Hampshire, especially the poor and disadvantaged.
Alex is the Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer at Catholic Medical Center. In that role, he is responsible for all aspects of CMC’s operations and strategy. He previously served as CMC’s Senior Vice President for Strategic Development as well as General Counsel. Prior to joining CMC, Alex practiced law at Devine Millimet in Manchester for twenty years, including six years as President of the firm.
Alex has been actively involved in the community for many years. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the University System of New Hampshire, the Manchester Development Corporation and the New Hampshire Business Committee for the Arts. Alex previously served on the Board of Trustees of the Palace Theatre, the Granite United Way, City Year – New Hampshire and the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. He also served proudly in the United States Marine Corps.
Lisa is a lawyer who serves on the Board of Directors of The Manchester Community Resource Center. In addition, she provides pro bono legal services to clients through the New Hampshire Bar Association’s Pro Bono Referral Office. Lisa has worked in private law firm practice as well as in the public sector with the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office, the New Hampshire Department of Children Youth & Families and in the New Hampshire Superior Court.
Lisa is a devoted wife and mother and is grateful to have stayed at home for much of their children’s formative years. She has enjoyed her role as a regular volunteer in all the kids’ schools and in all their school-related activities. Alex, Lisa and their children Rose and Alexander are parishioners of St. Catherine of Siena Parish, where Lisa has also served for many years as a volunteer in the parish’s religious education program.
