Parish Support Fund - Diocese of Manchester
Parish Support Fund
“Your support each week is a blessed sacrificial gift flowing from your heart! YOU have shown that the wellsprings of the graces of the Fountain of Immortality continue to flow in the Church even in, and especially in, times of greatest need.” –Bishop Peter A. Libasci
Parishes in the Diocese of Manchester depend on offertory donations for ongoing expenses related to ministry, maintenance, staff and other pressing needs. Without regular Masses, offertory and giving to each parish has substantially declined creating a difficult situation for some parishes to even keep the lights on. During this time, Bishop Libasci asks of our New Hampshire faithful to contribute to Together in Faith: Parish Support Fund.
How to Contribute
This fundraiser has ended - thank you to everyone for your support! We raised over $11,000 which 100% will go towards parishes in need!”
How the Funds Will Be Used
How Your Support will be Used for Parishes Most in Need
The Diocese of Manchester is coordinating with GoFundMe Charity (for nonprofits) to provide our fundraising platform for this necessary initiative. Dollars will NOT be utilized for any diocesan operations or overhead; all monies will go to Catholic parishes in New Hampshire that need assistance for critical needs.
“Critical needs” of the parish are:
- parish employee payroll and/or essential parish contract services (such as cleaning or maintenance services),
- parish utilities (e.g., electricity, heating). Parishes will be granted funds as soon as they become available and in order of highest need.
Bishop Libasci has provided assessment relief for parishes during this time. The central diocesan budget will not directly benefit from donations to parishes. GoFundMe does not charge a platform fee (0%). There is a 0% platform fee and only an industry-standard payment processing fee of 1.9% + $0.30 per donation. Donors will also have the option to tip GoFundMe Charity to support their continued business.
Contributions are tax-deductible, and contributors will receive tax receipts automatically.
Our hope is that in addition to providing our parishes with critical support during this time of need, our coordination with GoFundMe Charity will offer a comprehensive way for parishes to garner funds to reach those in need across communities, including through projects and other needs beyond the COVID-19 pandemic.
