Good Beginnings of the Upper Valley Received $3,000 to Help Local Families
Good Beginnings of the Upper Valley (GBUV) received a $3,000 grant from the Bishop’s Charitable Assistance Fund to support families with new babies of the Upper Valley. The BCAF grant will help to support both Good Beginning’s In-Home Volunteer Visitor Program and their Support and Education Program. The In-Home Visitor Program matches families with a trained volunteer who provides respite for exhausted parents at a vulnerable time in a family’s life. Additionally, GBUV also provides a Support and Education Program for families, which provides parent education materials, children’s books, emergency assistance, emotional support, and community connections.
A volunteer with Good Beginnings, Linda Shemanske, was the 2017 recipient of the third Vita et Caritas Award for her more than thirty years of volunteerism with GBUV. More information about the award can be found at www.catholicnh.org/BCAF/vca
Good Beginnings is located in West Lebanon and serves the Upper Valley region. Learn more about GBUV at www.gbuv.org or call 603-298-9524.
