“Prayer is the raising of one’s mind and heart to God or the requesting of good things from God” (St. Therese of Lisieux, CCC 2559). God invites us into a relationship with him that is both personal and communal. He speaks to us through his Son, Jesus Christ, the Word-made-flesh. Prayer is our response to God who is already speaking or, better yet, revealing himself to us. What is prayer?
