BISHOP TO ORDAIN TRANISITIONAL DEACONS ON SATURDAY
(MANCHESTER, NH) Bishop John B. McCormack will ordain three men as deacons on Saturday , May 31 in a 10:00 AM ceremony at St. Joseph Cathedral in Manchester.
“All of us are on a journey that brings us to our own vocations and leads us back to the Father. These men, who are preparing for the priesthood, follow a separate path, and this ordination is a major milestone on that path,” says Bishop McCormack. “With God’s grace and the prayers and encouragement of our faith community, these men will fulfill Jesus’ call to serve his people as deacons in his Church during this coming year. I look forward to their service among us.”
Bishop McCormack will ordain Mr. Christopher Martel, Mr. Matthew Mason and Mr. Jonathan White on Saturday.

Christopher Martel, 25, is the oldest of the four children of Thomas and Andrea Martel of Nashua, NH. He is a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Parish in Nashua, NH and a graduate of Franciscan University, Steubenville, OH. He will continue his seminary formation at Mundelein Seminary in Mundelein, IL, after his summer assignment at Beverly Hospital, Beverley, MA. |

Matthew Mason, 26, is the son of Brian and Susan Mason of Boscawen, NH. He is the oldest of seven children, a parishioner of Sacred Heart Parish in Concord and a graduate from Thomas More College of Merrimack, NH. He will continue his seminary formation at St. John’s Seminary in Brighton, MA after serving at Good Shepherd Parish, Berlin and Holy Family Parish, Gorham for the summer. |

Jonathan White, 53, of Manchester, NH, entered the seminary after a career in acting and practicing law. He is a graduate of Pace Law School of White Plains, NY. He is a parishioner of St. Joseph Cathedral and will continue his seminary formation at Blessed John XXIII Seminary in Weston, MA after his summer assignment at St. Bernard’s Parish, St. Margaret Mary Parish, Keene, Mary, Queen of Peace Parish, Hinsdale, and Immaculate Conception Parish, Troy. |
