What's Happening

Revisiting and Renewing

Renewing the Vision: A Framework for Catholic Youth Ministry (RTV) is a familiar document to youth ministers that presents eight components making up a comprehensive approach to youth ministry. When was the last time you pulled this book off your office shelf? Have you often wondered how the goals and components would "look" in your parish? Shawn Gregory, Director of Youth Ministry provides some background about RTV as we kick off a new Web series that explores each component. We'll hear from eight of our colleagues from around the state as they share their insights and best practices for implementing RTV.

Youth Ministry Mission

Three independent and equally important goals guide the Church’s ministry with adolescents:

  1. To empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today.
  2. To draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the Catholic faith community.
  3. To foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person.
