THE EVELYN UNDERHILL LECTURE IN CHRISTIAN SPIRITUALITY
A Spirituality for the 21st Century: Beyond the Ghetto and Assimilation
Saturday, July 11, 10:00 am, Robsham Theater, Register at www.bc.edu/stmce
Lecture presented by Timothy Radcliffe, OP, 2007 winner of The Michael Ramsey Prize for theological writing, for his book What Is the Point of Being A Christian?
What kind of spirituality can help Christians, Catholics in particular, to reach beyond sectarianism and yet be well identified as something more than just "one of the crowd?" How can we maintain a distinctive religious identity while both emerging from the ghetto – now called “life-style enclaves” – and yet not be simply assimilated into the broader society? These questions and more will be explored in this annual Evelyn Underhill Lecture in Christian Spirituality, named after the early 20th century mystic and married woman in ministry.

About Adult Faith Formation
The Diocese of Manchester invites adult Catholics to consciously grow in the life of Christ through experience, reflection, prayer, and study. In their document, Our Hearts Were Burning Within Us , A Pastoral Plan for Adult Faith Formation in the United States, the Bishops encourage parishes and dioceses to make this adult faith formation central to their mission.
Ongoing faith formation flows from liturgy, family and home centered activities, large group experiences or retreats, and individual activities. Watch your parish bulletin, Parable , and Public Policy and Social Teachings for a variety of additional opportunities. The following list is not exhaustive.
