I am Looking For:

Young Adult Ministry

In 1997, the Bishops of the United States issued a pastoral plan called Sons and Daughters of the Light. They met with young adults from all over the country and learned of the joys and struggles in their daily lives. In their introduction to the document, they said this to young adults:

“We know that your talents can enrich the Church and can be a sign of God’s presence in society. We invite you to share them with us and to become part of a welcoming community for other young adults as well…Our Holy Father spoke of your importance to the life of the Church: “The Church needs your energies, your enthusiasm, your ideals, in order to make the Gospel of life penetrate the fabric of society, transforming people’s hearts and the structures of society in order to create a civilization of true justice and love.” (Saint John Paul II, Homily, 1993, Denver)

It is our hope in the Diocese of Manchester that young adults will find communities of faith in which they can share their journeys. Young adulthood is a time of transition and decision-making; an incredibly busy time discerning vocation, starting careers, finding jobs, and discovering self. The Church in New Hampshire welcomes all young adults and looks forward to working with them more closely to make the Church evet more effective in announcing the reign of God.
