Catechist Certification

Basic Catechist Certification in the Diocese of Manchester is achieved through the successful completion of one of the following programs:

Called to Discipleship is the basic level, diocesan lay ministry formation program. This program is available at various locations throughout the diocese. It is a three-part program consisting of the Core Course, a Skills Formation Day and a Retreat. The 16-hour Core Course is offered on a sequence of eight evenings or a sequence of three Saturdays. The Core Course is also available online through the University of Notre Dame STEP Program.

Echoes of Faith is a video enhanced program which focuses on theological and catechetical foundations for those serving as catechists in parishes and Catholic Schools. This program is offered in parishes and deaneries throughout the diocese. It includes presentations, reflection, and discussion. Contact the Catechetical Leader in your parish for more information.
