Celebrating NH Catholic Schools!
The national celebration of Catholic Schools’ Week is January 25-31, 2009, but at in the Diocese of Manchester the celebration is starting early! Throughout the month of January, catholicnh.org will offer a weekly focus of the good news in Catholic school education in NH. Testimonials of parents, faculty, and students from across the state will share their reasons for choosing Catholic schools and why their school communities hold a special place in their hearts. Each week will focus on the mission of NH Catholic schools and how that mission is lived and witnessed daily in these communities of faith, learning, belonging, and service.
We encourage you to visit the site regularly, review our
directory of Catholic Schools,
Open House dates, and upcoming school events in your cities and towns.
If you’re considering a Catholic school education for your children, schedule a visit with the school principal using the guidelines for
Choosing the Right School.
Join us in celebrating the success of NH Catholic Schools where formation and education support student growth and achievement.

Superintendent's Message
"Go, teach!" Christ charged His first disciples. Since the beginning of Christianity, education has been one of the most important missions of the Church. Its success depends upon professional competence, quality, and above all, the commitment to Christ.
The Diocese of Manchester has a long, proud tradition of Catholic school education. It is blessed to have so many individuals who have made a strong commitment to Catholic education and its mission of teaching the message of Jesus Christ. From Bishop McCormack who from his first days in the diocese has pledged his total commitment to Catholic education, to committed, qualified principals, faculty and staff who have dedicated themselves to educating youth and parents who struggle and sacrifice to make sure their child gets off to the best possible start; the Catholic education community is united in the belief that every child is a gift, and every child deserves a Catholic education.
As one, we celebrate and challenge ourselves and our students. Our mission clearly states that we are pressed by our commitment to advocate for children and youth. It is a statement filled with the need to instill in our students Gospel values and provide an educational program that prepares students for lives of leadership in the church and in the world.
As Catholic educators committed to our Catholic faith, our families and our school communities, we believe that:
-
Catholic schools are both preservers of basic Catholic-Christian traditions and agents of appropriate change;
-
the school community is a vital force for preparing future civic and Church leaders;
-
students are pilgrim people, making their journey through this life with a constant focus on the next;
-
we work to stimulate the spirit of inquiry, the acquisition of knowledge and understanding, and the thoughtful formulation of worthy goals;
-
children are influenced by home, community, and a society in which attitudes toward Christian values are often challenged;
-
parents, the source from whom children and youth derive their values, entrust their children to the Catholic school to instruct, complement and intensify the education and formation begun in the home and,
-
we are called to assist these parents in fulfilling their obligation for the Christian formation and education of their children.
The Diocese of Manchester is committed to the ministry of evangelization and teaching. Through the spirit of joy and enthusiasm, we encourage others to join us in our apostolate of formation in the Catholic schools in the Diocese of Manchester.
