Very Rev. Richard B. Thompson assigned as Temporary Administrator of St. Hedwig Parish effective July 11, 2014. Along with his responsibilities as Co-Vicar for Clergy, he will also be responsible for all the administrative aspects of St. Hedwig Parish.

Rev. Eric T. Delisle from Associate Pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish in Nashua to Associate Pastor of St. Hedwig Parish in Manchester effective July 16, 2014. He will be responsible for all the pastoral, liturgical and spiritual aspects of the parish.

Rev. Michael Ciccone, O.P., S.T.L., M.S., PH.D. assigned as Cabinet Secretary for Ordained Ministry and Liturgical Worship effective January 1, 2015. His initial duties will be with the ongoing formation of priests and overseeing the Office of Worship.

Bishop Peter Libasci has made the following appointments effective July 1, 2013:

Rev. Georges F. de Laire, JCL, is appointed as Judicial Vicar and Vicar for Canonical Affairs for a five-year term.

As Judicial Vicar: The Bishop and the Judicial Vicar form the Tribunal of a Diocese. The Tribunal is understood to be the Ecclesiastical Court for the Diocese and thus addresses all judicial matters which concern the Law of the Church. For our Diocese, the Tribunal ministry is one part of the Church’s effort to offer healing and hope for the victims of broken marriages. The Tribunal investigates cases of marital failure to determine whether parties in certain instances may be free to remarry.

As Vicar for Canonical Affairs: He will be responsible for all canonical processes dealing with the establishment, merging, twinning or suppression of parishes; the formal relationship between the Diocese and other Catholic entities functioning in the Diocese (i.e. hospitals, schools, Religious Orders and Communities); the buying and selling of Church property (including parishes).

Rev. Msgr. Donald J. Gilbert, JCL, will conclude his term as Judicial Vicar on June 30, 2013. Msgr. Gilbert will continue to serve two days a week with the marriage cases in the Tribunal. Accordingly, Bishop Libasci has appointed him to serve as Judge in the Diocesan Tribunal for a period of three years. Bishop Libasci is very grateful for the generous service of Msgr. Gilbert even as a retired priest as Judicial Vicar during the interim period.

Bishop Libasci has established an “Office for Spiritual Formation and Enrichment” and has appointed the following priests to be Co-Directors of the Office effective July 1, 2013 for three years:

Rev. Jeffrey P. Fr. Statz will work with the Vicar for Clergy and will be responsible for overseeing those assigned as chaplains to hospitals, nursing homes and prisons.

Reverend A. Steven Marcoux III is resigning as pastor of St. Matthew Parish in Windham and will be joining the Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette effective January 1, 2013. Fr. Paul Belhumeur, MS, will be the temporary Administrator of St. Matthew in Windham effective December 26, 2012 until a new pastor is appointed. St. Matthew Parish will be open for applications sometime in the near future.

Reverend Damian Umeokeke, a priest from the diocese of Onitsha, Nigeria, has been assigned as the Amoskeag Deanery Chaplain primarily for Elliot Hospital and also to cover some nursing homes. His appointment is effective as of December 1, 2012. He will reside at St. Anthony Parish in Manchester.

Reverend Brian Kennedy, C.Ss.R., as Parochial Vicar at St. Michael Parish, Exeter and St. Mary Parish, Newmarket effective July 5, 2012. Father Kennedy is taking this position with the permission of his Provincial as he also cares for his aging mother living in the Seacoast area.

Reverend Eric T. Delisle from part time Parochial Vicar to full time Parochial Vicar at Immaculate Conception Parish, Nashua effective July 1, 2012. The hospital ministry in Nashua will be temporarily covered by the area priests until a full time hospital chaplain is appointed approximately in January 2013.

Rev. Msgr. Donald J. Gilbert has been reappointed as Judicial Vicar of the Office of Canonical Services and Tribunal for the diocese effective July 1, 2012.

Reverend Georges F. de Laire has completed his studies in Canon Law in Rome and received his J.C.L. He is appointed as Judge of the Office of Canonical Services and Tribunal effective September 1, 2012. Fr. deLaire will reside at Our Lady of Mercy Parish in Merrimack and will also be available for weekend ministry as assigned through the Office of Vicar for Clergy.

Rev. Maurice Abasilim, from the diocese of Onitsha, Nigeria, assigned as Chaplain to Concord Hospital, New Hampshire State Hospital and to the Carmelite Sisters in Concord effective May 1, 2012. He is residing at Christ the King Parish in Concord. Fr. Abasilim received his Masters in Pastoral Theology from St. John’s University in Queens New York in May 2012 and also completed one unit of CPE in New York in 2012.

Fr. Edward J. Kelley (retired) has agreed to be the temporary Administrator at North American Martyrs Parish in Colebrook/West Stewartstown while Fr. Craig Cheney recuperates from his operation effective June 27, 2012 for approximately eight weeks.

Fr. Leo L. Frechette (retired) has agreed to be the temporary Administrator at Holy Rosary Parish, Rochester and St. Leo Parish, Gonic while Fr. Paul Gousse recuperates from his operation effective June 4, 2012 for approximately eight weeks.

Dc. Clarence (Larry) Cummins is concluding his ministry at St. Matthew Parish in Windham, effective January 31, 2011. The Bishop has granted him a temporary leave of absence while he vacations in Florida to discern his future ministry to the Diocese.
