The Co-Vicars for Clergy of the diocese are Very Rev. Mark Dollard and Very Rev. Richard Thompson. Both Co-Vicars for Clergy are members of the bishop’s cabinet and ex-officio members of the Priest Personnel Board.
Very Rev. Mark Dollard is the Co-Vicar for Clergy I and provides ministry to and care for all diocesan and religious priests; active, inactive, sick and on leave. As such he keeps the bishop informed about his ministry with them and is directly accountable to the bishop.
He develops and maintains a supportive relationship with all diocesan and religious priests in the diocese and is concerned with their overall welfare. When a priest experiences personal concerns in his ministry, family, illness, professional issues or other personal matters, the Co-Vicar for Clergy I is available for assistance.
Rev. Msgr. Charles E. DesRuisseaux is the Coordinator for Retired Priests and maintains a relationship with all retired priests, ensuring their physical, spiritual and social well being. The Coordinator is directly responsible to the Co-Vicar for Clergy I and keeps him informed on a regular basis of any concerns or needs.
Very Rev. Richard Thompson is the Co-Vicar for Clergy II and provides ministry and care for all permanent deacons of the diocese; active, inactive, retired, sick or on leave. He keeps the bishop informed about his ministry with them and is directly accountable to the bishop.
He works collaboratively with the Director of the Office of Permanent Diaconate and will meet with him regularly. He is an ex-officio member of the Permanent Deacon Personnel Board.
In addition, the Co-Vicar for Clergy II is the bishop’s liaison with Bishop Peterson Residence, oversees the Coordinator for Institutional Ministries and meets with him regularly, makes arrangements for priest coverage, and he is responsible for processing immigrant priests coming to minister in the diocese by working collaboratively with the immigration attorneys from NH Catholic Charities.
As Coordinator for Institutional Ministries, Rev. Jeffrey P. Statz maintains an ongoing relationship with priests, deacons or religious who are assigned to and serve institutions such as hospitals, nursing homes and prisons. He oversees their ministry and assists them with their concerns and needs. The Coordinator is directly responsible to the Co-Vicar for Clergy II and will keep him informed with regards to these ministries.
